What does a concrete contractor do?
A concrete contractor prepares the ground and builds the forms, then pours and finishes the concrete. Muddy Boots Concrete pours driveways, patios, sidewalks, slabs, foundations, retaining walls and steps. We also do the site grading for a pour, plus stamped and decorative finishes.
What areas around Louisville do you serve?
Louisville sits at the center of our service area, and we work about 40 miles around it. That reaches into Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Shelby, Hardin, Nelson and Spencer Counties. The towns we serve around Louisville include Jeffersontown, La Grange, Shelbyville, Shepherdsville, Elizabethtown and Bardstown.
How does pricing work for a concrete job?
We price each job after we look at it. Size drives the price, along with thickness and reinforcement. Tear out of old concrete, grading and base, the finish and access to the site add to it. Your free estimate ends with the quote in writing.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes, we give free estimates. Call or text (502) 889-1624, and we set a time to come out and measure the job. After that, you get the quote in writing.
Is Muddy Boots Concrete insured?
Yes. Muddy Boots Concrete is fully insured. Ask about it, and anything else about the job, at your free estimate.
Do you take commercial concrete jobs?
Yes. We pour commercial concrete for general contractors and business owners, and we work with superintendents and project managers. That covers slabs, sidewalks, pads, curbs and approaches, plus footings and foundations for commercial buildings. Send the plans and the schedule, and we will look at the site and price the concrete.
Do I need a permit for concrete work around Louisville?
Kentucky's residential code requires no building permit for a driveway or a sidewalk on private property. Work in the public right of way, like a driveway apron or a public sidewalk, needs a Louisville Metro permit. Foundations for a new home or an addition go through Louisville Metro's Division of Construction Review. Some cities, like Jeffersontown, run their own permit offices, so ask the office for your address.
Can you replace an old, cracked driveway or sidewalk?
Yes. The old concrete comes out first, and then we grade the ground and set a new base. The new driveway or walk is poured with a slight slope that sheds water. Cracked or settled steps can be torn out and poured new the same way.
Can you pour concrete on a sloped yard?
Often, yes. Site grading cuts and fills the ground into a flat pad for the pour. Where the slope needs holding back, a poured concrete retaining wall can hold it. A wall over 4 feet tall can need an engineer's design.
